Just saying –Island vacation –  can bring a smile to your face and thoughts of relaxation to your mind. The nice thing about an island is every experience is different.

Beaches are common, but some are like cities with lots of nightlife, while others are remote. Some are tropical and lush, and some are almost barren. You can stay in hut-like accommodations over water, or up 30 stories in luxury hotels. And there are many locations and regions to consider – these are but a very few.

However, any Island destination means one thing – you’re not at work!

The Caribbean is home to over 700 islands, but not all are travel destinations.

There 8 Historically geographic groups- with long histories from around Europe.

These influences make each experience unique.

We open this section with THREE destinations often considered by travelers.

But what does the experienced traveler look for that makes them consider these particular islands so often?

ST. THOMAS- is part of the U.S Virgin Islands with strong mainland influences. while still being tropical.

THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC – has a relaxed, laid back feel with a strong Latin vibe.

ST. LUCIA – The Island of French heritage and food.! It has the reputation for luxury and seclusion since it is one of the furthest south of the mainland. This also means a longer flight to reach it.
