This certainly the most visited city in the region. Sydney has so much to make it a “must stop” on any trip. Naturally, with cruise ships and tour companies using it as a starting point, it’s easy to see why many extend their vacations for a few extra days here.
The Aborigines have a strong presence in the area with 29 clans calling it home. Locally they are collectively known as the Eroa Nation.
The population has exploded in recent years growing over 39% from 2008 to 2018! When you add the estimated 615,000 visitors every week, the city always has a buzz of excitement.

Things to do to be part of the buzz…

  • Beaches- Can you imagine Australia without beaches? Sydney has some of the best with Bondi being its jewel for suns, swimming and surfing.
  • The Sydney Opera House – world renowned with its sail-like design is an architectural gem is one of the most recognized building s in the world. It’s more than just opera, however. Opening daily at 7AM, you can dine here for any meal, including fine world class cuisine for dinner. And for entertainment? Catch one of the 40 performances each week with a variety of style and offerings.
  • For a little adventure- The Sydney Harbour Bridge is a great walking experience. You don’t need to be a master hiker, but no matter what your activity level, the incredible view of the harbor and the city is breathtaking. To enhance this opportunity, come at sunrise or sunset
  • For cultural junkies there are tours and presentations like the Aboriginal Cultural tour, the Australian Museum- spotlighting the history of the continent, the Royal Botanical Gardens and the highly acclaimed Bangarra Company of Performing Arts.
  • And for a fun or romantic experience- Camping on Cockatoo Island. Whether you bring your own tent or reserve a “glamping experience” you will have a truly unforgettable view of the city
  • For water sport- a ferry to Manly Island has something for the entire family. Go snorkeling and see more than 200 species of tropical fish. Or maybe paddle boarding is more your thing. But while here, definitely stop by Fika Swedish Kitchen for their delicious cinnamon bread pudding!
